NCCTA was proud to honor Congressman Howard Coble as its 2013 Legislator of the Year during the Association's recent Awards Dinner at the Inn on Biltmore Estate.
Congressman Coble first entered elective office when he won a seat in the NC House of Representatives in 1968. He served the first year of a two-year term before being appointed Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina in 1969.
In 1973 Coble was appointed Secretary of Revenue for North Carolina. He then practiced law in Greensboro until 1983, serving three more complete terms in the NC House from 1979 to 1984. First elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1984, Coble has been reelected to 15 consecutive terms.
